Logging my journey

I joined Weight Watchers again. I can't say enough good things about the program. I lost 50 pounds using their program 8 years ago. Unfortunately, having two babies less than 2 years apart undid all the hard work.

In December, I joined again and so far, so good...

Before (Oct 08) / Now (20 lbs lighter):

Finally!

I've seen all kinds of decals on the back windows of cars depicting everyone in a family. Parents, kids, pets, etc.

I finally saw one that I want!

My baby is 4 - when did this happen?!?

The birthday princess and her court:

How old are you, Meaghan?

Opening presents - we did this right after dinner, we were too full to eat cake right away!

Cake time!

Happy Birthday, Grammie!

We gathered yesterday for a (belated) celebration of Grammie's 65th birthday. She chose her menu well, we had a scrumptious pasta dish with scallops, clams & shrimp in a red sauce. Salad and bread rounded out the meal, leaving room - just barely - for the chocolate praline cake.

Much fun was had by all. Except maybe at this exact moment:

Here's to many more birthday celebrations!

State of the Union

The second week of me being back at work full time when MUCH smoother. It's much easier to run a house & parent 3 children with a second adult available. I give major props to single parents!

I feel like I passed some sort of test around Thursday of this past week. Suddenly, the level of tasking at work has increased and I'm being given more responsibility. It's all good!

Tomorrow, Margaret attends her first Girl Scout meeting. She'll be a Daisy for the next two years. She is very excited to follow her big sister's footsteps.

Things are looking up

Just a quick update, today went much better! Two great things happened - I got some positive feedback this afternoon at work. Apparently I'm making my presence known (in a good way) all ready! The other good thing was I managed our evening routine well enough that we had 30 minutes to just hang out together between dinner & the bedtime routine.

Thirty minutes might not sound like much, but it was heavenly.

My training wrapped up today, so tomorrow is my first "solo" flight. Wish me luck!

I survived!

I made it through my first day of work! Which was fine, lots of information to process as you might expect. So far, it continues to meet my expectations.

I didn't manage to get through the day without a load of mommy guilt. I picked up the girls from the sitter, made and fed them supper, then sent them to bed within an hour and a half of getting home. Ick! It was not my idea of fun. It had me wondering what the heck was I thinking about this job thing!

Where is Sean, you ask? Oh, yeah. He's in DC for the week on a business trip. Gotta love the Navy's timing!

It's too soon to make any decisions - especially since I'm juggling my first week back at work with solo parenting. I'm going to focus on surviving day by day and keep the faith that it will get easier. For everybody.

Especially my lovely spouse, who's continuing on from his business trip to enjoy a Phillies game with his Dad on Saturday. (I approved that get-away before I got the job offer.) Yes, he owes me big time!
